Roderick Williams is one of the UK's most sought-after baritones, whether on stage, in recital or in opera. An accomplished composer, he is also Composer in Association of the BBC Singers. His varied work in many strands of music earned him an OBE in 2017 and he sang at the coronation of King Charles. In recent years he has arranged and performed song cycles, whether for string quartet and voice as today, or for orchestra and voice as in his recent recording of Butterworth's 'A Shropshire Lad' with the Hallé Orchestra.
Founded in 1997 and winners of many international competitions including Concert Artist Guild International Competition and the Kuhmo International Chamber Music Competition, the Carducci Quartet is committed to presenting new music alongside core repertoire and genre-crossing programmes incorporating film music, jazz, folk and spoken word. This concert has been sponsored by The Anne Fingland Legacy. |
