Adam Johnson was a Scholar and Junior Fellow at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Martin Roscoe and performing under the batons of Kent Nagano, Martin Brabbins and George Hurst. He made his concerto debut aged 15 in St Petersburg, conducting from the piano. His studies continued in London under Peter Feuchtwanger.
He is equally at home conducting opera as he is soloist in concerto repertoire, playing chamber music or directing his own large-scale compositions. He is active as a teacher and currently Head of Keyboard at Newcastle University. |
