Our 2011/12 Season

For 2011/12 we are hoping to open our season with Alexander Romanovsky
www.romanovsky.it, a young superstar of the piano world, and he will be followed
by the welcome return of Tim Jackson of the Marais Ensemble and principal horn of
the Philharmonia, to play the Brahms and Lennox Berkeley horn trios with Ian Buckle
and Chris George.

BBC New Generation artists, the Elias Quartet, www.eliasstringquartet.com,
come in November and we are hoping that Adam Walker, www.ycat.co.uk/adam-walker, at 21 the principal flautist of the LSO, will be able to come and play for us in January.

In March the brilliant and charismatic Joanna MacGregor will be playing Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Then, as a first, we are hoping to have a concert at the end of
the month on a Friday focusing on Schubert and the Trout Quintet, followed by, on Sunday afternoon, a trio, the concert to include Schubert’s great B Flat trio. The
central musicians will be Thomas Gould (violin) www.thomasgould.com, Philip
Higham (cello) www.ycat.co.uk/philip-higham,
and Alasdair Beatson (piano) www.alasdairbeatson.com, all quite exceptional young
musicians. This would mean seven concerts in the season.
