In the first half of the concert we hear art songs by predominantly Russian composers. The second half presents operatic and concert aria extracts Michael Mofidian was born and raised in Glasgow and studied at Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music. A prizewinner in various competitions, he has been a member of Young Artist schemes at Glyndebourne and the Royal Opera House, returning to both afterwards as a soloist. He is also a noted lieder and concert performer. In the past year he has been a resident artist at Geneva Opera.

Anna Tilbrook studied at York University and the Royal Academy of Music. She is no stranger to Kelso Music Society, most recently appearing with James Gilchrist with whom she has worked for many years and recorded a wide range of CDs. Her work as an accompanist and chamber musician has taken her to prestigious concert venues including Het Concertgebouw and Wigmore and Carnegie Halls as well as to Festivals throughout Europe.
